History: Tazar was the son of Jon-Ta and L-Ora SubSmith, outcast scientists from the 25th Century Earth colony in the Sideslip Universe. Jon-Ta researched the splicing of Sideslip-human DNA with that of biological code gathered from hundreds of other sentient and non-sentient beings from multiple universes. L-Ora was a Breach-Searcher highly skilled in accessing what are referred to as slippery universes because of the difficulty in locking on to their resonances for Breaching.
Deeply in love, the two scientists travelled the multiverse exploring and conducting their research, always one step ahead of the Breach-thorities. Realizing that they desired to share their wonder of discovery with a child of their own, Jon-Ta and L-Ora designed the perfect child and decided to incubate the boy in the traditional slow process from decades past, in an Incubation Capsule fully self contained with a viewing portal for them to watch their child grow. Because of the time and focus the two researchers placed on the creation of their child they remained in place months longer than they typically did allowing the Breach-thorities time to discover their location. A raid ensued and in the chaos of attempting to flee, L-Ora opened a Breach to a random world, Wild World. L-Ora, Jon-Ta and the incubation capsule holding the infant Tazar were able to sideslip through the breach in the nick of time before it closed, but were unable to bring any of their equipment or resources. Without going into too many gruesome details, both of the scientists were quickly killed and consumed within days of their new life on Wild World. All signs of their remains were erased by digestive processes of the predators that had consumed them.
After a period of a few more months the incubation capsule containing little Tazar chimed it’s completion of the birthing process and opened to primitive environment of Wild World. The baby’s cries gained the attention of a few of the species that had welcomed the babe’s parents to the world and they came running, leaping and swinging toward the tasty treat. One species, that Tazar now calls The Family were the first to arrive. The Family are a pack and can best be described as creatures that resemble a chimeric mix of wolf, ape, and dinosaur. Arriving at the capsule the Family could sense the coming of the larger predators of the region. One of the pack quickly attacked the infant boy, shook it until it’s tiny back broke and swallowed it whole. The pack then raced away from the scene back to their den where The Family’s pups waited. Upon being disgorged, the infant boy’s body quickly finished healing itself from being half digested and broken. One of the pups leaped at the infant and began to gnaw at one of its legs, the infant reacted reflexively and still crying out in pain it grasped it’s tiny arms around the neck of the pup strangling it to death. In return it began to feed itself on the intestines of the pup, and was joined by the other pups. From that day onward, the boy lived a life of tooth and nail existence, the only sentient being in Wild World.
He grew to manhood quickly and began to explore outside of the jungle biome he knew as home travelling the entire globe over the course of centuries. Never once did he encounter another sentient being, but he lived through countless adventures, attacks, envenomations, natural disasters and infrequent, short-lived friendships with the animals of the world. During his life, Tazar invented rope, protective garments, primitive weapons and survival skills spanning every conceivable natural environment.
After many decades away from The Family, Tazar desired to see them again, knowing that they would not remember him, but longing for their familiarity. He found the jungle where he was born, guided by the stars. The Family found him as well and once again he went through a pain filled process of joining their pack. During a hunting trip one day, Tazar moved silently through a swampy ravine stalking the large crocodilian beasts that were so tasty and so dangerous. While submerged, ready to drive a spear into the belly of the three ton beast he noticed a white gleam from one of the stones. The beast floated overhead and he attacked. After a vicious battle, Tazar and The Family consumed the beast and having finished he tore one of the ribs of the beast free and swam down to the swamp bottom to explore the white stone he’d seen earlier. Freeing it from the muck and mud of centuries Tazar pulled the object to a clear area and examined it. It was the incubator capsule, although torn and damaged by giant jaws it still blinked having some source of energy still functioning. Tazar was unable to read or understand anything about the capsule and had no recollection of what it was, he was nonetheless infatuated with it. Frequently spending time with the object pulling, poking, prodding, exploring, until one day he cut a finger against a sharp edge and a drop of blood fell on a sensor that he had exposed inside the bottom of the capsule. The blood set off a sequence of chimes and activity as the capsule expanded into a rough ring of technology and bright flash of light and a circle of energy exactly like the Breach his mother made so long ago appeared on the ground. Startled, but not frightened, for this was no great beast, just light like he saw in the north years ago, Tazar approached the gleaming circle of energy and could see different place through it, like a reflection in water, but not the reflection of this place. Through it he could see creatures that looked like him. Dozens of them! Some of them were flying through the air in brightly colored skins, others were running away from the bright-skins, there were explosions and fighting and it was extremely exciting for Tazar to watch. At one point however, a creature that was like the running screaming creatures but wasn’t running or screaming caught his eye. This creature was lovely, a sensation Tazar had never experienced outside of the beauty of mountains and the northern lights. Was it possible that this was a she creature of his type? He thought he was alone. He needed to know more about this. The she creature was headed toward the fighting and bright skinned creatures. Within moments Tazar knew that she was in danger. The bright skins didn’t see her and their battle was raging. A metallic beast turned its attention to the she creature and lurched quickly towards her, its intent obvious to Tazar. It meant to kill and consume just as he had killed and consumed the swamp beast. This would eliminate his abiltiy to know more about a she creature and would end the beauty, neither of those something he would allow to happen.
Tazar leaped through the reflection and charged toward the metallic beast intercepting it. Tazar and the beast fought like animals, Tazar with only his body, the android with futuristic weapons. At last Tazar was triumphant. He raised the android’s broken chassis over his head with his one remaining arm letting out an unearthly animal scream. Blood flowed from horrific wounds all over his body. Dropping the android he turned toward the female reporter, Megan McCarthur, he had saved and reached with his hand toward her then collapsed in a bloody broken pile.
Megan McCarthur has taken Tazar into her care and with help and assistance from members of the Peacemakers is slowly teaching Tazar language and behavioral norms of the 21st century. It has been extremely difficult and extremely gratifying at times.
The Breach produced by the incubator capsule was attacked by The Family after Tazar leaped through destroying it and the Breach. A few talons and body parts of pack members were severed by the collapse of the Breach. Unknown to Tazar or any of the other Peacemakers they were recovered and quarantined by Dr. Eureka.
